Sunday's meet up was a success !! You guys should have seen it, Norm was in rare form and gave some powerful insight. For those who weren't able to make it we talked about: - Canadian real estate market, banking and regulations (what would happen if they went bust) - where to find value now, are markets expensive ? - a lot of books were recommended: Expert Political Judgement, Deep Value, What Works On Wallstreet - Canadian couch potato blog - We talked about Apple, the future of technology - talked about life and goals too - We also talked about Canadian investors too - here's a great video that was recommended on Sunday A lot was talked about and it was amazing overall, hope to see you all at the next one !!!!

This is ignorant, Buffett is referring to a country with opportunity for him to build his wealth. If he were born in Bangladesh in 1930 he would not have had the same opportunities to go to the schools he went to and be exposed to the things he saw that influenced him to become an investor. Has nothing to do with IQ and IQ has nothing to do with success. Rose Blumkin couldn't read or write and build one of the best furniture businesses in North America, Temple Grandin was autistic and became an American icon, as Sanjeev pointed out there's a dozen examples of people we could refer to.

I would question the IQ of anyone who would use this as investment criteria. Also the comment suggests someone doesn't know a lot about IQ testing. +1 +2

Hey guys it's been along time (I couldn't find the last meet up thread made haha) but I'm back full circle !! I was wondering if there were any Toronto value investors who wanted to meet up this week or the next ? Swap some ideas, hear some thoughts, insights and more on investing and the economy ! I strongly encourage all value investors beginners and pros to come ! If you're a student or new to the game this is a terrific opportunity to get acquainted with some of Toronto's finest and brightest minds but more importantly to learn. I want to get a head count of who can make it and from there we can arrange the exact date/time and place.
