FDA approved Alzheimer drug. Cograts to the ones who had faith!
I would argue long bonds would see much higher rates if Fed does not keep on buying. Nobody wants to fight the Fed. But we will see whether inflation (index numbers) persist after the summer and what Fed would do if it does stay high even in September/October.
A shrinking business with somewhat questionable management I would probably put it around 22-25. The media side has been damaged in the last few years in ATT hands, and new co will be highly leveraged too, so $8 deal value is not conservative in my opinion. I would be interested if it drops below 25 though before the deal.
These may be set up for further consolidation down the road. The new co will not have multi class shares structure any more as Malone gives up super voting power. Comcast may be interested to be the third streaming giant by acquiring Warner + Discovery.
Li Lu did own some BABA before, and I think he got out before the trouble hit. It will not be surprise to see him to go back this quarter too, but will need to wait for 13F for public data.
it is true at least to some extent. the timing of buybacks depend a lot on cashflow. they need to spend on CapEx or risk dropping behind in terms of technology. the hope is that management stay cool when share price is high and do not spend all the cash on buybacks. Waiting patiently though is not easy.
WSB stock rally was about heavily shorted stocks, of which DISCA is one (about 30% of float shorted last time I checked). Why so much shorted? Maybe just a simple pair trade of long DISCK and short DISCA to explore the value gap? The rally might be driven by short covering or speculation of short squeeze.
Paypal buy now pay later seems to be cheaper in terms of fees charged to merchants, but it does not seem to be available to smaller merchants at the moment. Paypal management said they don't charge additional fees to merchants for BNPL (only the payment process fees), but I have not cross checked that yet.
Good momentum in Q4 report and high guidance for FY21 - management on record saying 2.4-2.5 B EBITDA on sales 14.5B (3% growth). Not sure if they over promise due to activist pressure, but commodity prices are high and farmer income is $100+ more than last year per acer if lock in now, so there might be some truth in that confident guide.

Man, i am not against stocks up big, but no news no development? only possible for a short squeeze in the stock, but what is going to happen after the last short gets squeezed out?
Not healthy...
For a moment, i thought they get acquired this morning...
