yader
Hey all, Forgive the ignorance. I've searched the forums here and google and have not been able to find an answer yet. I'm a US investor (some ST capital gains, some LT) who holds some Canadian stock. Who do I pay taxes to on those gains from canadian companies? At what rate? Thanks! leftcoast
If you're a resident of the United States, then you pay capital gains tax to the IRS at whatever rates they set. Capital gains from Canadian stocks should be treated no differently than capital gains from US stocks.
