orthopa
Interesting read, need to do some more work on it. Looks like KKR sees some value.
muscleman
Read Troy Racki's investment case here: http://seekingalpha.com/article/2785975-wamus-600m-private-rebirth Thank you! I think the primary value lies in the NOL, which has to be realized through acquisitions. Do you think these guys are smart enough not to overpay for acquisitions? Good point, the NOLs and the managements ability to acquire undervalued assets and crank out more profit is where the value is. Maybe the first acquisition gives a clue to their competence? Let's see. Or maybe check these guy's incentive agreement and background. Most likely, I expect these guys to act like Boys discovering Girls for the first time. ;D
Tim Eriksen
Can someone explain to me how the preferred deal does not screw up their NOLs? Base don what I have read it violates the 50% ownership change within a three year period and severely limits NOL usage and value. HC2 did a smaller preferred but it still triggered the ownership change and thus lost most of their NOLs.
Capitalist World
WMIH up listing to Nasdaq on Monday. With the backing of KKR, large NOL's available and a likely large transaction pending this seems to be one to watch.
eclecticvalue
I am intrigued with this investment. Because last year was supposedly the year WMIH was going to acquire a company. With the market correction. I think leads to a better deal. I am hoping this will be the year. Can't believe it has been 3 years since they emerged from bankruptcy and haven't found a deal.
