smreitz
For those of you that are fans of 'Breaking Bad', this series brings a great intertwined story of the rise of industrial America including Vanderbilt, Rockefeller, Carnegie, Morgan, and Ford. I am sure there are some historical inaccuracies, but it is really fun to watch the History Chanel incorporate some dramatic flare and blues guitar rifts to make this a 'sexy' history lesson. http://www.history.com/shows/men-who-built-america Available now on Netflix for instant viewing of Season 1. Fat Pitch
DVR'd this when it came out on H channel. I agree its 5 star material. Also available on Netflix is the 2 hour bio-doc on Ford by PBS. His strategy on buying back Ford from the public is absolutely brutal.
boilermaker75
I also watched this when it came out on the History channel. I highly recommend it.
cobafdek
For those of you that are fans of 'Breaking Bad', this series brings a great intertwined story I'm eager to watch this, and thanks for bringing it up. Breaking Bad was certainly the greatest. I'm scratching my head here: is there anything more than a loose connection here with The Men Who Built America? I get that it's intertwined, riveting, and highly prone to compulsive binge-watching, but are there other parallels? I watched Breaking Bad with my 15 year old son, and now he wants to be a chemical engineer. Will Men Who Built America be "an equally wholesome influence"(!) on him? LC
In that case, maybe don't watch Hannibal with him.
CorpRaider
Thanks for flagging. I caught some/most of this on TV, but will be nice to binge watch. I think I also caught some extended super deluxe version once on H2.
