JAllen
Is there a plan for lunch yet? Would like to join. Driving down from SF on Monday. Could give someone a ride from central LA/Santa Monica the morning of the meeting if you want. The parking around there sucks - it's paid parking so you probably want to arrive thirty minutes prior to when you actually want to enter the meeting. Umami burger had a staff shortage last year that day FYI.
Jurgis
Sucks that you are driving down on Monday. :) I can't leave from Bay Area on Monday, have to drive down on Tuesday morning. Coulda shared a ride. Anyway, see you guys there. :D
rishig
Did we pick a place to meet? 7 of us are flying from SF Bay Area as well and would like to join. Many of us are vegetarian, so if folks don't have a preference, can we pick a place with veg options. Thanks
merkhet
I'm down for Wurstkuche, but that may not work for our vegetarian friends. How about Far Bar or Justice Urban Tavern? (I'm thinking bars/gastropubs are our best bet for the size that I'm expecting -- IIRC, there were 20 people last year.)
Jurgis
Wurstkuche has vegetarian options, which are fine for me. But I cannot speak for rishig and other vegetarians. :) Edit: http://wurstkuche.com/Eat.html - Wurstkuche link so people can check if this is fine for them. Edit 2: To be clear, I vote for Wurstkuche since it sounds interesting/great, but I am fine with other places.
alpha231616967560
I'm also vegetarian (for 20 years). Interesting that a few people from this thread are also veggie. Looking forward to meeting up with folks after the meeting (I'll be flying into Burbank Tuesday). Cheers, Paul
merkhet
If the vegetarians are down for Wurstkuche, then let's do that -- is it large enough for 20?
Evolveus
Wurstekuche can def handle 20. Of course depends on how crowded it is but the eating area is big, open, and spacious. Its a good venue for a group.
rishig
Far Bar (recommended by merkhet) has a more conventional menu (salads, soups, burgers) with quite a few veg options. I think it will have something for everyone. I vote for Far Bar if it can fit a big group.
Jurgis
Far Bar: Assuming we are talking about this: http://farbarla.com/food-menu/ , I see fewer veggie options than Wurstkuche. :) (Salad is not a meal 8) ). But I am fine with whatever people choose.
Jurgis
Reposting my travel: I am driving on March 24th in the morning from Mountain View to LA. Not driving back (flying out of LAX late on March 25th). If anyone wants a one-way ride and 5+ hours of investment banter, let me know. 8) Conversely, if someone can offer me a one-way ride on March 24th from Bay Area to LA, I'd be happy to pay for gas (or your Tesla charge 8) )
tylerdurden
If you guys can ask him whether his views are any different in terms of Posco or at least let us know if he mentions anything regarding that topic during the meeting that would be highly appreciated! rishig
We will be heading to FarBar after the meeting for lunch. If you'll have don't have a strong preference, we would love to meet up with everyone. I'll call ahead to reserve a big table.
netnet
I'll be at the Pie Hole for breakfast, 714 Traction Ave., probably around 8:30 (I'm flying into Burbank at 7:30.) I'll be in a black jacket and a blue checked shirt. I don't know if twitter is the best way to connect (that's what my kids do) I'm @nick_henderson
outside_chance
Long time lurker here, since the days this board was on MSN. I would love to meet folks at the meeting, and afterward. How will we recognize each other? outside_chance

netnet
So some went to the sausage place and some went to the Far Bar, where there was plenty of room, :( I would suggest the Far Bar for next year, plenty of room. I had a bunch of some tweets( @Nick_Henderson) but @JAllenCapMgmt was a champ. Notes to follow on the weekend.
