dabuff
Hello everyone, New here - excited to to be a part of this forum! Though I have never before heeded much attendance to earnings guidance, but I'm still curious- based on your empirical experience, have you noted that company guidance is any better than analyst earnings guidance (I've read of studies showing that analyst's estimates are frequently wrong, but never one comparing the two). Thanks for your input!
jawn619
often times a company will sandbag guidance. By that I mean give guidance that is extremely conservative so that they have an easier time hitting it in the next few quarters. AAPL used to do this and one time Tim Cook said one one of their calls that they were no longer going to sandbag guidance and the stock tanked.
