Fairfax Lollapalooza travel thread

Decided to start a new thread for questions and suggestions, since official thread seemed for announcements only.

 

Couple questions:

 

Travel:

 

What do Toronto natives and past travelers think about Porter Airlines ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porter_Airlines )? Are they reliable? Any gotchas? Is it more cumbersome to travel with Porter to the island airport ( is the ferry a bottleneck? ) than Air Canada to Pearson? Or is it a good choice?

Any gotchas for Porter flights from/to USA?

 

Accommodations:

 

Any good/preferred/suggested hotels? Looking for convenience to get to the events + not very steep price.

Fly Porter, if you have a direct flight. It is very convenient if you are staying downtown. I never found the ferry to be a problem, but I believe the tunnel is open so you don't need to take the ferry.

Anyone interested in sharing a hotel room ( preferably a kitchenette)?  Most likely for the following dates April 11th-14th.

Definitely fly Porter - easy to get in and out of downtown, great service from anywhere in Canada probably better than normal airlines. Not sure about US departures I would imagine only drawback is they are not conveniently located entering the US airport as they are still quite a small airline relative to large players.

 

No brainer in my view.
