morob
Things must be really dire (and deteriorated quickly) as it otherwise doesn't seem to make sense for Murray to go through bankruptcy. Also why were they only recent using money to buy more land and restart Hillsboro. At the risk of sounding like a bagholder - could this move be used to force some debt holders into a voluntary debt restructuring?
Guest roark33
No, it's bankruptcy and--no personal offense, but yes, that does sound like a bagholder comment.
BG2008
Along with Rules of Thumbs like "If David Simon can't fix it, you can't fix it" We should add "If it's too much hair for Picasso, it's too hairy for you"
Guest roark33
Why do you say it was too hairy for Picasso? Seems like he was very heavily invested in this...i.e. not too hairy for him...

He was heavily involved the first time. Somewhere along the way, he got out. It was too hairy once he was no longer involved.
Guest roark33
The idea of a take-under argument for the decline in the stock price sounds very "bag-holder"-esque...just saying. Tell me more about how debt repayment means no value for equity holders. Based on his last post in May 2019, not sure he did get out...sure seems like he still saw value for the equity holders in May....
Gregmal
Not so surprising ending to a story who's moral is, this is what happens when the bear case keeps slapping you in the face but you choose to keep a positive attitude...

The David Simon and too hairy comments are meant to be simple yet "full of wisdom" statements that I find very helpful in investing.
Ahab
I want to thank everyone on this thread for their posts over the years. The Foresight story was an interesting one and I learned a lot from your comments. I was lucky to come out of this one with a small profit and to second guess myself against re-entering earlier this year.
