I'm also looking at ideas that people would hold for long periods of time. I have a Canada bias and am looking to see what others like in the USA and the rest of the globe. My list is pretty small. Brookfield Infrastructure Partners Alimentation Couche-Tard Canadian National Railway I have owned Fairfax since 2010, but am still undecided if this is a long term hold for me. I have owned it for 15 years (with some buys and sales over time) and never broke a sweat about owning this company. Over time, this stock has done ver well for me. FWIW!
