How to get the most out of this forum?

Hey newbie here! Decided to join after being a long time reader.

 

What are some tips and tricks you guys have on getting to know the community. Perhaps you have some search functions you find helpful or "start here" ideas.

 

I'm excited to get digging for both wisdom & wealth :)

I was going to say the same thing.  It takes a while to figure out who is swimming naked.

Otherwise, use this as a sounding board.

 

Do some research, post the results, see what the responses are.

 

Also re-read the BAC warrants thread and Eric's thread in the "ask a member" forum. Great way to think about options.

Thank you guys on the suggestions. I will heed your advice on avoiding the politics/religion forums and use it as a sounding board. I wanted to practice my investment thesis write ups and this will be a good place to do it.

Make sure you check the stock hasn't been written before. You can do this by clicking on the subject text and it automatically sorts everything alphanumerically. Then where the page numbers are press the ... (it is after 3) and it will expand all the page numbers so you find the tickers faster.

 

Yes you could type the ticker on the search bar and it should pop up the results but it doesn't show everything for some reason.
