Meet-up on Boston Omaha Weekend (Weekend of Saturday, June 8, 2019 in Boston)

Recommended Posts

Hold the date for a meet-up on the weekend of Saturday, June 8, 2019.

Boston Omaha (BOMN) has announced their Annual Shareholder Meeting will be held on June 8, 2019, but has not announced the time or location. The time and location will likely be announced mid-April. (http://www.bostonomaha.com)

This meet-up will be a great excuse to get together. The meet-up will be totally independent of BOMN and you don't need to be a BOMN shareholder to join us for a meal or a coffee. More information to come based upon the time and location of the meeting.

Let us know if you're planning to be in town for the meeting or are local and would like to join us.

I am not a big fan the company, but I am guessing buying one share for ~$25 is worth it for admission. Or did the proxy get out already and it is too late?

Last time the BOMN meeting was in Boston, we had several people who were not BOMN investors who joined us for the meet-up.

Just to clarify:

- There was a meetup (dinner) separate from the BOMN annual meeting organized by someone from CoBF.

- I believe signup for the annual meeting was through some event website (Eventbrite??). I totally don't remember if this asked for any credentials. Also no clue if they will do the same this year or something different. EDIT: I seem to remember someone at the annual meeting who said they were not shareholder - but I don't know if they will allow the same this year.

- If you want to buy a share, record date is April 15th: http://www.bostonomaha.com/documents/165/21c2c6114f08e2fed05e3cbc9bc26e4b.pdf

Thanks RtF, I bought a share today, so I am good either way.

Here is the update on this event Read the Footnotes mentioned. This is totally independent of AGM.

Time: The night before the AGM. June 7th, 6:00pm-8:30pm (This is the commitment I got from the restaurant. If there are not many customers after 8:00pm, we can stay past 9:00. If there are, conversation can be continued out at the patio or any of the hangout places near by)

Place: Sumiao Hunan Kitchen, 270 Third St, Cambridge, MA 02142

Transportation: within 7-10 min walking distance from either Lechmere or Kendall Square MBTA station. There should be plenty of street parking (Boston Friday night standard) since there isn't a big residential population around the area. It's mostly office buildings. If you Uber from Boston downtown, it's just across the river, should take you less than 20 minutes on a Friday evening.

Cuisine: They call it contemporary Chinese. Basically from PF Chang type dishes to very authentic Chinese dishes. They have dishes for vegetarians as well.

Price: You will get your own bill. Main dish goes from $12 noodle to $50+ seafood. If you are one of the lucky ones who's made enough money on SHA: 600519, I have no objection if you want to buy the product and share your good fortune with the group  ;D

Noise: Average. The owner has agreed to sit us at a large table at the quiet section of the restaurant.

RSVP: All decent restaurants around Boston are packed for Friday evening. The owner has been very accommodating to my request without a final headcount or commitment to minimum spending. So I ask you to RSVP with me at pondside47@gmail.com before Wednesday night so I can give them a final headcount.
