Taking cue from experiences of extreme adventure athletes the book describes the science behind achieving the FLOW state. It is intriguing that as per the latest research on FLOW, most of our explicit brain circuitry - the left brain, the pre frontal cortex etc goes sort of offline when we are at our most effective and we rely much more on the implicit circuits, the instinct / intuition etc to solve problems that are usually just outside of our immediate capabilities.
