Guest ValueCarl
I have heard it said that, SNS would have been bankrupt by 2011, if not for Mr. Biglari's gifts. Without criticizing the masterful job he did inside of Steak N Shake in order to restore its previous operating metrics before waste and mismanagement set in, was there not more of a perfect Buffett trend following analysis having taken place, whereby, a long history(decades) of success was met by an aberration from which Biglari, etal, simply capitalized on understanding full well, that the business just needed to get back to its core values? I had briefly scanned the numbers over time, and that's what I was seeing. Again, this is not to disrespect this young, very talented, very shrewd businessman or his associates at all. At the same time, it seems disingenuous to attach God like qualities to what really amounts as, not much more than an outstanding businessman willing to ROLL UP HIS SLEEVES and get the business to where it always should have been going in the first place, if it were not for silly managers acting upon their own greed and taking their eyes off of the ball with common sense thinking? Also, this is not to discount the very competitive, extremely difficult business that the restaurant space represents in general, fast food or not. It's a viciously competitive cut throat business where FAILURE comes easy to its players. From my own minds eye, a feeble one for sure, I might contend that Mr. Biglari's most difficult relationship which might alienate him from shareholders over time, will come from his wife. Just my opinion, and a certain smell I can't explain most of the time. Other than that, Biglari Corp. sounds just fine for a holding company of diverse operating businesses whose core is not necessarily tied to the cash flows of SNS exclusively, and especially as time passes. I would encourage SNS owners to keep simplifying, and simplifying more, rather than pointing towards DEITIES. If the young Biglari continues along the same path, maybe he will be the next BEST BUFFETT!

That may be the case. Unfortunately, a large number of the managers of public companies fail to use common sense and rational thinking. That's why the ones that do are appreciated. From my own minds eye, a feeble one for sure, I might contend that Mr. Biglari's most difficult relationship which might alienate him from shareholders over time, will come from his wife. Guest ValueCarl
I apologize! I bring to the board's attention, human chemistry, nothing more, nothing less. For some reason, I seem to have hit an emotional chord on your bone of bones. They do say that, behind every successful man is a woman. I'll bet that has been true for Mr. Biglari also. In today's woman centered world, the opposite, more than likely, is true as well. The best thing shareholders can hope for tied to Mr. Biglari's personal life is that, he has a genuinely caring woman who understands that their blessings are not singular, their success not exclusive if not for the body of shareholders and employees who signify their existence in the universe. Nothing is more destructive than vanity in our world. Considering the hours and time that is required to perform at a level that Mr. Biglari must, nothing will be more beneficial to his long term, over all success than a supportive, sacrificing woman prepared to walk humbly by his side. I wouldn't be surprised if Mr. Buffett agreed! imo
SharperDingaan
Keep in mind that Mr B has to answer to Mrs B for all the hours going to S&S, & at some point Mrs B is going to want her hubby back. It's fair comment. SD
Guest ValueCarl
I have a message for Biglari Street from savvy, Floridian milk shake drinkers taking on Sardar's wallet, I mean gift during the past couple of days. Initiate a low sugar, low fat(two percent not low enough) milk shake campaign, preferably no fat, and no sugar in order to ATTRACT a large untapped population of demographically desirable PATRONS who will COMPOUND the MILK SHAKE CHECK once entering your doors. :P
