stahleyp
I assumed he owned some, but when I was looking through the sec filings, that doesn't seem to be the case. Is this right? http://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/105729/000095012310028561/v55249def14a.htm Charles T. Munger — — 13,181 1.1 % — — The shares here are BRK. T-bone1
I think that probably is right. Munger has pretty consistently said that he wouldn't buy Wesco stock and BRK wouldn't take it private because it was overvalued . . . I think BRK is only buying it now to tie up the loose ends
calonego
He doesn't own Wesco. His holdings in BRK, which owns Blue Chip, which owns Wesco, are substantial. It's highly probable that he owned Wesco and Blue Chip personally or through his LP a long time ago (one of his original LPs still exists BTW) and to clean things up swapped the shares and only owns BRK now. Warren likely did the same. I think some of this may be documented somewhere.
