biaggio
Perhaps someone can explain why the short interest was increasing going into an earnings call where the dividend was likely to be cut if this was going to be good news for the company. If you were short on Thursday, what do you do now? Was Friday everyone covering and now the stock will drift back to the 17-18% dividend yield area? only if they think that FTR cannot continue to yield their current FCF or owners earnings(and hence a further cut or elimination of their dividend). For now they seem to be (?fairly) valued for their current financial performance + risk level (declining wireline business ,high debt, integration of large takeover). Sea Island
Its been about a month, the stock seems to be headed back to pre dividend cut territory, does anybody have any ideas on this?

Shane
I think that most people don't want to analyze the company due to the leverage, the common may be worthless and a purchase is a bet on management. I'm a shoreholder and am holding but am nervous.
PlanMaestro
After a long road, Frontier systems integration of the Verizon acquisition is completed, and we are opening the door to a new way of doing business across all of our markets, the Frontier way. We are now in complete control of our systems, processes, products, marketing and the delivery of a better customer experience. ...... Yes. Batya, the only thing I would add is, I really think the acceleration, as we talked about, will be in Q3 and Q4. Q2, we will continue to finish the cleanup from this first quarter conversion. And we do see stability continuing in the second quarter. So we don't foresee any fallbacks on revenue. But when you look at the acceleration, we're really focused on really being aggressive in the marketplace in the third and fourth quarter of this year. mmmm..... was not this one of the main worries? http://files.shareholder.com/downloads/AMDA-OJWDG/1855466747x0x566674/261ea557-6f78-4e47-985e-7e72c46a2c65/FTR_EARNINGS_DECK_1Q12_FINAL.pdf
Myth465
This has been a big loser..... It just keeps sucking me in as the price falls, I will hold for a few quarters, but wont be buying.
biaggio
just remember you don t have to make it back the same way you lost it. I bailed on it (small position) after the dividend cut + put $$ into BAC. Highly leveraged business that is shrinking. Worse than a melting ice cube? Prem was asked about this investment- if I remember right they still like it + were going to be "looking at it" (I assume they were going to consider adding to it). alertmeipp
Revenue dropped 6% but some of the lost was caused by one time issues. Margin is higher though. Cash flow still good and company is continue its de-leveraging.
beerbaron
When exactly are they suppose to see those 700M$ cost savings show up in their bottom line? Q1 2013 if I remember properly? BeerBaron

beerbaron
Anybody looked at the options, I would much prefer to use Calls so if the the cost savings don't materialize you end up limiting your losses. BeerBaron
ourkid8
Thank god I sold out of FTR on May 4th and put the cash into BAC. I will now be sticking with higher quality names as I took a beating on this investment. Good luck everyone!
