I would imagine that this is going to cost SNS very little to do, and the royalties will be pretty healthy-margins that should be as good as if they were franchising, I would imagine! link01 Posted March 31, 2009 Share Posted March 31, 2009 thnx for the heads up, dempster. i have to admit: i'm not sure how i feel about this idea. partly because there is so little specifics as yet, & partly because there often seems to be be a fine line between 'leveraging' your brand & diluting it. i vaguely remember the fiasco that ensued some years ago when krispy kreme attempted to leverage its brand by selling its dougnuts in grocery stores. they just didnt taste the same, & it ended up hurting business at the original krispy kreme shops. i dont know how the starbucks coffee products available in grocery stores has added or not added to the starbucks brand or co profitablity, tho. maybe thats been a different experience?
