stahleyp
The article is kinda old. I found it while looking stuff up about Whitney Tilson, so I assume he's one of them. I think he is #5. Anyone have any guesses? http://www.fool.com/investing/general/2004/01/23/buffettesque-superinvestors.aspx
keerthiprasad
I would guess that Number 2 is Michael Burry of the now closed scion capital.
Myth465
Investor 2 - Sounds like Mike Burry Like Investor 1, he was also a doctor, taught himself investing in his spare time (do doctors have spare time?), and launched his fund in Nov. 2000. Since then, it has risen 146% vs. -18% for the S&P 500. Like Investor 1, he too invests in a highly concentrated fashion, but does a bit more short selling (largely replaced today with a very large position in credit-default swaps). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Burry --- Investor 5 - I would guess Bill Ackman Another MBA, he just started his own fund this year, after many years as a principal of another money management firm. He grew up in the real estate business, so some of his best investments are in this area. Unlike the other managers, who prefer to keep a low profile, in a few cases he has been an activist investor on both the long and short side. Could investor 4 then be Tilson? "Tilson spent much of his childhood in Tanzania and Nicaragua (his parents met and married while in the Peace Corps). He studied at and graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College with a bachelor's degree in Government. He then went on to gain an MBA with High Distinction from Harvard Business School, where he was elected a Baker Scholar (top 5% of class)[2]." But wikipeida says he started investment career in 1999. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whitney_Tilson
yuval
Investor no. 10 might be Chris Davis, though in his biography it's written he joined Davis Advisors in 1989 His father started the fund approximately 20 years ago, and he joined in 1991, gradually taking over day-to-day management. In the 13 years since he joined, the fund has appreciated 427% versus 340% for the S&P 500. He focuses on buying high-quality companies with outstanding management, which means that sometimes he has to wait for years until the stocks of certain companies he admires become undervalued enough to buy. http://www.davisfunds.com/probios.html

claphands22
Investor # 4 is probably Martin P Van Blerk from Boabab. Martin was born in South Africa, looks like he spent some time in the UK, and definitely has an affinity for international stocks. Also, Martin worked as an analyst for Fairfax. http://www.baobabglobalfund.com/Team.htm Even if it isn't Martin; I like the boabab fund and the letters are fun to read. Don't think those are correct. Seth hasn't held Berkshire all those years, nor does he make one decision per year from what I can tell. I don't think Mohnish has a law degree or founded an online retailer (could be wrong though.)
