Good read on some of the design reasons why the M1 crushes AMD and Intel:

Crap. Now I wish I'd never sold my Apple shares.

The BRK stake should do very well over the next decade.

Maybe the old guy really does understand tech?

The advantages of end to end design.

The largest public company on Earth with a market cap in the trillions of dollars grew revenue by 21% and earnings per share by 35% and it is just such an uneventful and expected thing that no one even bothers posting about it.  What a time we live in.

That was what I thinking when Apple released those monster results! We were just too distracted with $GME. It's certainly more entertaining than old fashion stuff like revenue and profits.

You're right, rkbabang,

The numbers are simply breathtaking! Some days I wonder if the dailyday language will eventually make & take a shift : "I'll iphone you tomorrow", just like "I'm hoovering the carpets." [in stead of "I'm vacuum cleaning the carpets."] !

And the stock was down after that earnings announcement!

probably because holiday season earnings are ALWAYS significantly higher than other quarters which is what the +35% was?

Compared to 2019, net income this quarter is 10% higher YoY. 10% is good, but occurred in an environment of trillions in direct stimulus to consumers. And while earnings are up 10%, the stock is up ~100% over the same period of time. Hard to get excited about that going forward.

True, the stock has ran up So much in past year or so. But their ability to still have growth given their large numbers is still remarkable to me. Maybe that 5G "supercycle" is real.

Hold.

Actually the +35% was EPS growth for the quarter YoY ($1.7 versus $1.26). Not bad! ;)

My bad. I saw in the press release it mentioned "quarterly earnings per diluted share up 35% which made me think it was QoQ.

I went to their 10Qs to confirm and whatever calc I did suggested the 10% I posted, but I'm rechecking now and do see it's ~30% YoY. Who knows how I messed it up, but it does seem I was wrong.
