I'll fess up to being a bit of a fanboy and tech tragic but there is no denying the massive step change that AR Kit has delivered.  Talking to some of my web developer mates they are  really excited about this and are considering doing IOS apps purely to leverage AR Kit. It has basically razed other's IP while building a mini-moat for Apple.

To paraphrase the links below.  You have effectively handed developers the tools AND hardware for AR in one hit.  The cost to play is effectively zero with massive upside for them to unleash their creative spirits. Sure the the AR interface right now in terms of the iPhone is not as elegant as it could be but all round it is still an exceptional value proposition. Difficult to imagine Apple not delivering  on a more elegant AR solution down the track. In the mean time millions of developers have been beta testing the tech using iPhones as the interface.

Who knows why google shows that but it didn't happen.  down less than a percent today, including after-hours and all that

What happened today? My google finance says AAPL is down 14.27%, I see nothing in the news or in Edgar, maybe a data problem?

DooDiligence,

I'm not sure I understand your question. But for my part, I did not even know that Apple has been a tennant at Incuba, and I'don't see Apple as a Incuba tennant right now.

I was thinking they might want to snoop around there for opportunities...

Yes, most likely, there has been an Apple taskforce here for a long time sneaking around to find the right place, and do the land deal. Hopefully some indebted old Danish farmer, who has wanted to stop farming for years, but who was unable to sell, because he had more debt than the farm was worth, is now retiring rich. Likely, his bank will be happy, too.

Just thought I would share a positive experience that gave me a bit of a better view of how Apple works. I'm a long-time Apple shareholder and customer. I bought a pair of AirPods recently and had some connectivity issues (audio would drop) and took them in to my local Apple Store for a "Genius" appointment. I hadn't been in to the Genius Bar in a while.

I was very impressed by my technician and the process.

1. Walk into store, greeted by employee who signs me in. I see on his iPad he's picking my shirt color and what table he's putting me at so a technician can identify me at my scheduled time. This is necessary because the place is packed around lunch time (everyone at my table seemed to get resolution they seemed happy/ok with from $0 for a configuration fix in one case, a $29 AppleCare plus screen replacement, and $120 for an out-of-warranty battery replacement).

2. Technician comes up, introduces himself, and asks me to describe the problem. I explain that I had some initial issues pairing my AirPods and now I'm having audio drop. He was empathetic and seemed sincerely interested.

3. He punches the serial number of my AirPods into his iPad and starts asking me questions, which I realize is part of a guided interview on the iPad. So, Apple has come up with questions that guide the process (but don't dictate it) and make sure they can collect relevant data. For instance, he asked where my phone was when the issue happened. I said usually in my pocket, and he asked me "screen against your body or away from it? home button on top or on bottom?". He took very detailed free-form notes in a few fields.

4. Pretty early in this process he'd made it clear they were going to make it right and eventually that the resolution will be to replace the AirPods. Goes and gets them and helps me re- pair them with my iPhone.

5. I ask him if all that info goes to engineering in Cupertino. He said, yes, the info does and they'll send the defective units back there. So they've got a pretty good loop for understanding and fixing hardware quality issues, and pretty confidence-inspiring employees on the front-lines. Basically it seems like they have good people, good process, and good tools for when things go wrong.

BTW, I love these things.

Thanks for sharing your experience, Pau.

The AirPods certainly seem to be a hit. 90%+ of the comments I've seen about them include words like "love" and "great" and "favorite new product" and "can't go back" and things like that.

I don't have a pair yet, but will likely get one at some point.

I like my nike watch but hopefully it can be traded in for one of these.

I dropped my nike watch off today at the genius bar - they need to repair or replace it so that it can handle os upgrades. I feel a bit unsettled not having it on my wrist.

I don't doubt it, I just figure that having waited this long already, I might as well wait a bit longer and see if there's a new improved version that will come out at the September event. Probably not, feels like the kind of product that would be on a ˜2-year cycle, but we'll see.

I'm getting the next iPhone too and passing on my iPhone 7 to my wife who needs a new phone. Should be an AAPLtastic fall this year...

Interesting what Buffett said about AAPL yesterday on CNBC:

Originally about 10 million shares were bought by Todd or Ted [some time ago].

Then I looked at it and bought considerably more.

In the last quarter reported, he sold some of his shares and I bought more than he sold. Our overall [number of shares] went up but his holdings were reduced by about 2/3rds.

He manages $11 billion. That's all he manages. When they get a new idea they have to sell something. I've got a lot of excess money around. He decided he wanted to go heavier into something else but I never sold a share.
