compoundinglife
Very interesting read. Long, but thought-provoking: https://www.matthewball.vc/all/applemetaverse Good piece. Reminds me of the John Gilmore quote "The Net interprets censorship as damage and routes around it". I think eventually the same will happen here and Apple will adapt or not. IMO that quote has not been true for quite a time now. :-\ I disagree. What do you consider successful censorship on the Internet?

Amazon Kindle ecosystem. Facebook and most other social networks. The fact that you can route around means exactly zero when 90-99% of users won't and you won't be able to reach them. IMO the quote would be true only if some majority of users routed around the censorship. Edit: Per CoBF rules I don't touch the political side and mention only mostly commercial censorship. I think it will either be routed around over time or the platforms will see threats coming and adjust to be more accommodating to keep their relevance. Likely the later. Its a slow ship to turn given the platform's pervasiveness but I think one of those two will happen. Current state does not seem sustainable. Liberty
There's no one internet anymore. Facebook is a platform almost as big as large chunks of the net, and they control what happens on it (well, they try). The App and Play stores are also big platforms that are fairly controlled. etc.

gfp
Looks like Berkshire sold some Apple in the quarter. At 9/30 they had approx 964.5 million AAPL shares and today's 13G shows Berkshire owning 907.559 million AAPL shares at year end. https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/320193/000119312521044816/d107461dsc13ga.htm

Liberty
I watched Apple's event and jotted down my thoughts as I watched. Decided to post it here: https://www.libertyrpf.com/p/apple-event-my-thoughts-april-20 I was expecting the new iMacs, but they only updated the smaller ones... I'm probably buying a bigger one whent hey come out. Hopefully they segment it as pro and make them much better (M1x instead of M1, FaceID, etc). John Hjorth
AAPL Q2 FY21 10-Q is out . It simply continues to shoot out the lights. Amazing numbers. Cash plus marketable securities minus term debt now at ~ USD 88 B. The mother of all buybacks is likely to continue for a while.
