gfp
Its a small company and an illiquid stock. It is difficult to buy in any size without moving the price in a huge way and a public message board talking about how inexpensive it is might produce some investment competitors. beerbaron
Harry is a clever guy he would have never done the writeup before he bough all the share he wanted. So I can see a few reasons why he deleted it: -He decided to buy more -He does not want to share it's ideas anymore -He is talking with management (buyout???) -He did not want to suffer from confirmation bias -He changed it's idea on the stock If I remember correctly Myth465 made a very clever comment that the company was family owned and acted like it. That might have changed Harry's mind. BeerBaron
Cardboard
Does anyone have any information as to what might be the rumour circulating on the company? Looking at a 10 year chart, this stock has never traded more that 177,900 in a single day. It traded 2,435,875 today while up a whopping 54%! It was up 92% at the high of the day! I have seen micro caps going up and down over the years, but the percentage here is simply too large to ignore especially when considering the much larger than usual volume. Just curious. Packer16
I picked up a small position a few months ago. This company is in a good business but has "family" run attitude. The pop up makes it more expensive than DIT, the other "family" run business in this space. DIT is a good business but CEO takes home about 10% of the FCF of buisness (a little much for me). If there was a way to remove the CEO, the business would be worth investing in. Packer
Guest HarryLong
I am so very pleased that some of you made great money off my CRVP idea. It's a far cry from some months ago when I was getting hated on for the idea ;D A show of hands: who made out well on CRVP? 8)
ERICOPOLY
I have sold today at 2x cost. The only problem I had with them was the 13% interest rate the controlling family was getting on those loans. Thanks Harry!

COYS
There was a lot to dislike about this one.... 1. The 12% note which paid several family members about $500k per annum in interest. 2. The very generous allowances for personal items such as auto use (if memory serves, teh allowace was more than $40k per year per person). 3. Generous compensation, notwithstanding the above items. 4. An annual meeting held in Florida for a company based in Connecticut. 5. A poor secular organic trend masked to a large extend by acquisitions But, taking the counsel of Schloss ("Cheap is good enough") and Cundill ("If it's cheap enough, we don't care what it is."), I did purchase a position. When Harry highlighted the idea, it was cheap enough, in my view, to make up for the negative items above (perhaps it was cheap for those very reasons). With the recent runup, I don't think it is still cheap enough, though, and I've sold. Thank you for the idea, Harry.
ERICOPOLY
In four trading days it has gone from 80 cents to 1.96 and back down to low of 1.03 today.
Cardboard
I have never seen anything like it. There was no volume nor interest in that stock/company. On most days you would see a volume of 30,000 shares. Then in the last 4 trading days we are in the 1.5 to 6 million shares a day. No news to account for any of it. No upgrade or major recommendation that I can find. No change to the business. The only thing different is a major number of speculators who appeared on the Yahoo Finance Board. I have seen there some discussion on JVA and there is apparently quite a bubble forming around coffee and things like GMCR. I still can't explain why all of a sudden there would be such interest in CRVP around that theme. It is a very stable business and it is not like the company just became a distributor of single cup coffee serves on Friday!!! Normally, you would see explosion in interest and volume accompanied by a big price surge when a company strikes a major oil, gold or other discovery. You would also see such thing if a take-over was announced or the info leaked out. I have sold a good portion for a double, so thanks to Harry for the idea. It remains very cheap so I kept some and hope to find out what is really going on soon. Cardboard
prunes
Sounds like its low market cap and low float made it a target of a pump and dump routine, perhaps.
Guest Hester
It's interesting, two former Harry Long ideas being discussed on the board right now, EBIX and CRVP. One is a somewhat illiquid penny stock, and more or less doubles on no news. The other is a larger and heavily traded stock, that falls about 8% on no news. Of course the former situation must be the result of brilliant stock picking, while the latter situation must be the result of a crew of stock manipulators. Just an observation....
