Android is paying off for Google, I don't know why you keep making these snide comments.

Sure it is  ;):

Seriously, why do you post? I just said all you do is post snide comments without actually you know taking opposing arguments seriously, and voila....you respond with another snide comment.

Mostly to track my predictions and thesis. And having people shoot holes in them.

Btw, you wanted evidence. Here's a nugget.

Hey, is this also evidence of Android's failure?  ::)

Google Co-Founder Sergey Brin Splits With Wife Anne Wojcicki

Without reading the article, I would guess the break-up is because of too much money and too little sex. Yes, Google still has a moat  ;)

That has little or nothing to do with whether Android is paying off for Google or not.

I'll let you do the analysis :D

This snippet tells the whole story:

"Brin is now in a romantic relationship with another Google employee. The Bloomberg Billionaire Index pegs Brin’s net worth at $24.5 billion. The couple has a prenuptial agreement"

The possibility of a reconciliation of the pair is unclear, since Brin has become romantically involved with a Google employee, according to sources. This is further complicated by the fact that that employee had also at one point been involved with another Googler.

Ooooo. I wonder who this Google employee is.....

I'm thinking Nikesh Arora.... ;D Google really didn't want him to leave.

Larry Page - why would it be a complication otherwise  ;D

Don't know if it's good for shareholders, but for humanity, I'm glad they're thinking big along the lines of SENS.org.

Absolutely.  It is shocking that of all the things Billionaires do with their money life extension is not usually among them.  We are a good 50-75 years from massively extending human life, but I think that time frame could be halved with enough investment. If it takes us 35 years to extend life expectancy to 500 years, that will be just in time for Musk's (and others') Mars colonies to siphon off the excess population.

The title is wrong.  He doesn't claim that we will live forever, in the article itself he says "it’s never forever".  I agree with him that we will cure aging and be able to fix most injuries, but we will never be able to put someone back together after they fall head-first into a wood chipper, or die in an explosion which blows them into bits.  After we cure aging humans will live until they die in an accident, get murdered in some horrible way, or choose to go.  I think the leading cause of death by far will be suicide. You'll have people who have lived 500 or even 5000+ years saying OK I've had enough and choosing to go.  We only get 7-10 decades here now and many people already choose this path. When you can live as long as you want many more will eventually choose to die.  But even the people who never choose death will not be able to live forever, the Sun will destroy the Earth eventually.  And even if we relocate there is the eventual heat death of the universe.  It's never forever.  An unimaginably long time maybe, but not forever.

Also interesting, I found Aubrey de Grey's comments on Google's Calico project.

Finally, the War on Aging Has Truly Begun

Thanks for posting.  100% of my charitable donations go to the SENS.org Foundation. I feel it's the most underfunded compared to the potential good it can do for humanity.

Liberty, I find this interesting, but among some many things to read and watch, I have never taken the time to read about this. What are the projections on this, do they have a time frame about significant achievements? When do they expect to crack the code? Or is there any hope we can see this while we are still on this planet (I'm 29)? I would like to live longer!
