king888
Does anyone follow this company? Share price is in 52-week low after Rob Friedland step down from the CEO. Rio Tinto took control. The gold mine in Mongolia (Oyu Tolgoi) will start production at Q3. But the politics in Mongolia right now is unfavor for foreign investments. There is a good insight from local on SeekingAlpha's blog ->http://seekingalpha.com/instablog/899162-jon-springer/222737-mongolia-weekly-update. hasilp89
Anyone owned or looked at this more recently. Recent interview with CEO was interesting (tl:dr ICE is gonna die, EVs need cooper, countries don’t want to depend on China, we have copper reserves in DRC). Looks like they have begun production in the DRC and will expand quite dramatically. Are there parallels to lumber where capacity won’t come rushing back in? Any other copper names worth looking at? https://www.northernminer.com/news/cru-world-copper-conference-friedland-on-the-new-world-order/1003830145/
hasilp89
This is also quite an entertaining presentation. If some thugs hadn’t stolen the catalytic converter from my Prius a few months back for rare metals value I probably wouldn’t believe him. https://www.ivanhoemines.com/site/assets/files/4689/2020-pdac-presentation.pdf

All the producing properties are Canadian with an Australian asset providing some optionality. They’re making good money here. If Peru goes Venezuela, that’s 12% of world copper production that becomes unreliable. Is that the extreme case? Sure, but not an impossible one. Location definitely matters.
