MattR
Jesus Christ, GM has been a left for dead value stock for a decade. Now that they are taking on risk and going into EV which everyone is doing, they are all a sudden a high flyer? Narratives matter so much in stock investing. I thought i read a satirical report about the flying cars, but apparently it isn't. When something like that shows up - I get really cautious. While I didn't invest I remember in 2007 when buying and reselling houses was made out to be the best safest and most money making method possible. When both companies and people buy into pipe dreams caution is advised
RadMan24
Microsoft is investing in Cruise. Xerxes
I am kicking myself for not adding in March big. Thankfully the dividends that i received in Q1 (the last one before the cut) was at the time of market crash, so got re-invested at very low dollar value .... hahaha I truly think that GM, despite the naysayers and the jokes, will have an outsize return. It can be the Walmart to Amazon or Walt Disney to Netflix.
Xerxes
GM partnering with Wabtec on electric freight locomotives (cnbc.com) GM-backed Cruise secures $5 billion credit for self-driving robotaxis (cnbc.com) Far better to add to the devil that you know, to capture these "embedded" call options (Cruise and the far-off Wabtec venture) than buying inflated SPAC-of-the-day EVs.
