Any of you have any experience getting rid of small amounts of stock from spin-offs etc. while avoiding commissions that are an outsized portion of the amount received?

Yes. My broker (TD Canada) is happy to help in these situations. All I have to do is call and ask nicely. They sell the position at the market price and waive the commission.

Thanks - I had wondered about doing that, but wasn't convinced it would work. Thanks for your input.

Just as an FYI - Scottrade will NOT waive commissions for this type of situation.

Expects $6.3B in earnings this year. Market cap is $8.6b...

I get that people are worried about leverage and business execution and that car companies just aren't popular in today's market, but it does seem a little strange that you can trade at 1.3x earnings WITH improving fundamentals...

"Cummins’s engines had limited capacity to store or dispose of the NOx. Instead of NOx being broken down in a process called regeneration, the pollutant had a tendency to escape from the vehicle, sometimes nearly doubling emissions and reducing the vehicle’s fuel efficiency as much as 4 percent, according to the complaint.

The process concealed the true emissions output and wore down the car’s catalytic converter"

Does the lawyer's language here sound funny to people other than me?

What the lawyer really says is that the catalytic converter reduced the pollution, (which they call "concealed pollution") and the short lifespan of the converter makes them unhappy.
