Parsad
For the last week, as boardmembers have found out Ericopoly's returns over the last ten years, there have been hundreds of questions asked of him. I thought you guys can post on here regarding specific strategies for investments...be it BAC options, leverage, etc. I think with his results, he deserves his own thread. Cheers! berkshiremystery
Purely epic...Epic Eric. 8) Hopefully nobody scares Eric, because he might also be a normal human being afraid of to many groupies. ::) But who should know better than himself. ;D
value-is-what-you-get
. . .or just listen to Eric. I've never had to ask a thing and learned everything I need to know about options from Ericopoly. Calls are the right to buy, puts are the right to sell - then just look at the prices and figure out what you want to do. Oh and as far as the sorority of Theta, Alpha and Beta goes, I did see a board member mention "stripping out the Alpha" so maybe there is something to it! ;D

ERICOPOLY
I've explained this before but I'll say it again -- this is not my net worth growth, it's the growth in my RothIRA: During 2003,2004,2005, my net worth went up a lot (from investing/speculation) but my RothIRA declined those years. So in those first 5 years the RothIRA lagged the net worth gains. Then, since 2008, my RothIRA has grown more than my taxable account (but I live out of that account and can't go as aggressive, plus it lags with taxes). returns.tiff

ragnarisapirate
So Eric, I have to ask: what do your days consist of? Do you wipe your ass with $100 dollar bills? ;) Seriously though, I ask because I kind of doubt you are much of a Wall Street type. Could be wrong though. ERICOPOLY
I typically wake around 6 am and check the pre-market quotes while in bed. Then I drink coffee and walk my daughter to her public elementary school where there are only 14 kids in the class in addition to 2 full-time paid assistants. So that's 3 paid adults for just 14 kids. I'm not kidding! And that's a public school in California. Then lately I've been going on a two hour walk (foot surgery two years ago worked out). I get back from that walk and go swimming for a half hour (one thing we splurge on is we keep the pool heated to 90 -- but some of that is solar heating). Then I walk the dogs. Or sometimes I go for a walk with my wife on the beach (she is usually doing her ceramics hobby in her studio). If I don't go for my two hour walk, I'll be the one driving my son to his pre-school. It's about 100 yards from the beach, so I'll leave the car in his school parking lot and go walk the beach, see the pelicans, watch the surfers (his pre-school is basically my parking spot for Hammond's Beach). I go on fishing trips (flyfishing). I've taken horse riding lessons -- we went for a trail ride last night in Death Valley (awesome!). For my 40th birthday my wife is giving me surfing lessons -- so perhaps less watching the surfers from now on and I'll be doing more surfing. Death Valley is hot! Man, it was like 98 degrees yesterday. It's bizarre -- this is winter!

Surfing can be highly addictive. Just make sure you don't get punched out for stealing someone's wave.

Yours Truly
There should be a case study on Eric's thought process and past trades.. that'd make for a great B-rated flick
ERICOPOLY
If you made a book or movie about my thought processes or trades, you would become the Salman Rushdie of this board and I can name the people (board member's here) who would be likely to pool their money together and put a hit on your head. One of them in particular, I suspect, would be the one to issue the fatwa. ;D
berkshiremystery
Hahaha,.... I told you guys some posts ago that our Eric is some shyish nice gangster who shuns the limelight, but honestly I would do the same. 8)

I haven't gotten my anti-terror fix since "24" disappeared. Cheers!
Redskin212
Homeland is excellent!! If you liked 24, check out "The Following" with Kevin Bacon. They are the same writers so it has a similar feel except it is about a serial killer and his cult so it is a little creepy!
Yours Truly
I've only joined recently but from my casual reading and if i'm not mistaken, Eric has achieved his amazing returns solely from using options/leaps strategy on a handful of companies (FFH, ORH and now BAC/AIG) that were on the "perceived" brink of death? That would be mostly correct. The amazing thing was that it was backed by good analysis, not just plain dumb luck over years and years. Cheers!
