The night before, the night before the FFH annual

For fun, and at the risk of causing extra confusion, I'm organizing 2 "pre" events this year.

 

The first is the ...

 

The Ben Graham Dinner

 

This is a casual dinner & drinks event for people who are arriving in town the night before the Ben Graham Centre's Conference that happens on the day of the FFH Dinner which is in turn on the night before the FFH annual meeting. 

 

Time:  April 9, starting about 6pm.

Place: It will be held at a restaurant in the downtown core which has yet to be determined.  (I'm waiting for a head count.)

As a result, it will require an RSVP via PM before April 6.

 

Yes, any local value investors, and others who aren't attending the conference, are welcome to join.

 

The other event is ...

 

Norm's 2013 Fairfax Pre-Dinner Meeting (drinks before the FFH Dinner)

 

It's a casual event for those who are there before the FFH Dinner (or after the Ben Graham Conference / bus outing) and want to talk about value investing over a drink or two.

 

Place: Fairmont Royal York Railcar Bar

Time:  April 10, 3pm-6:15pm

 

It's first come, first served.  Yes, all are welcome.  (No RSVPs.)  But there's only room for about 25-30 people, so - as Sanjeev says - some of you may be sitting on the Railcar's roof or holding onto the sides "New Delhi" style!

Good news,

 

I've made the reservations for the Ben Graham Dinner on Tuesday.  It starts at 6pm and will probably go until they throw us out (about 9.30 or so).  People will be dropping by as they get into town.  So, late arrivals are welcome.

 

The restaurant is also happy to add a chair or two provided I call them with an updated guest list on Tuesday.  So, you can still RSVP for it until I wake up on Tuesday morning. 

 

I've sent the details of the location to those who've already expressed an interest.  If you didn't get them, just shoot me a PM or email.

I'm pleased to say that the Ben Graham Dinner was a huge success.  (Even if I do say so myself.)  We had a larger turnout than I had initially expected - even eclipsing the first FFH Dinner according to Sanjeev.  I had a great time and I hope it'll be the first of many more to come.  I'd like to thank everyone who attended!  I look forward to see ya'all over the next few days.
