CHKP - Check Point Software Technologies, Ltd.

CHKP is an Israeli company providing hardware and software products and services for IT security.

CHKP has no debt, $575 million cash and $233 million in short-term investments.

The free cash flow is about $900 million and the EV $7.6 billion.

Over the last 5 years the annual free cash flow growth has been 16% and revenues 11%.

I have not looked at CHKP before today and the above warrants a more in depth look. Although there are filings on Edgar, there are no 10-ks, which I assume is because CHKP is an Israeli company?  Is there a way to access annual reports for Israeli companies?

TIA,

Boiler

Do they have a moat ?

I don't know much about CHKP yet so I don't know. I hope to start looking at the most recent 20-F today.

Their business, IT security, is something we cannot do without, threats will always be there, and there probably will be ever expanding security threats to address.

Nasdaq listed company, so information should be available.

Given Imaging Ltd. and Ituran Location and Control (Baupost is a shareholder) as well as Delek US Holdings Inc. and Isramco Inc. (Site Currently Under Construction) are interesting companies.

Yes, I just was naive about how to find the information. I was looking for a 10-K, now I know to look for a 20-F.

I have had good luck in the past with software companies that were mainly started/run by Israelis, like Mercury Interactive and Daisy Systems.

I went ahead and wrote some May 45 puts on CHKP.

  • 3 years later...

This one has been on my radar for some time and the stock has stagnated of late. Anyone else still following it?

I'm not following, but Kerrisdale's recent letter has a write up about it.

Just saw that a little while after posting. The company has perhaps the cleanest financial statements I've ever seen, 88% GMs, 45% NM, little variability, no debt, etc.
