Saluki
Does anyone know what happened to the shareholder litigation that Guy Spier was involved in with this company? If I recall correctly, the brand new factory which cost them half a billion dollars was valued at $0 on the bankruptcy petition. I hope the shareholders got a better deal. I didn't invest in this, but when I was looking at the company after the fact like an archeaologist, I tried to see where along the line I would've decided to jump out and I didn't really see anything. All the problems looked solvable and the business plan looked solid. The only thing I saw that I wasn't a fan of was lack of big insider ownership. When I asked Mohnish Pabrai about it at the Fairfax Meeting last year, he said that it was a perfect storm of problems (low zinc prices, problems at the factory, delays etc) but that he thinks it would've survived if it wasn't saddled with so much debt.
