dcollon
I wanted to see if anyone else on the board gets involved with buying recently converted thrifts. I have followed the space since the mid 90's and have had success over time and would enjoy sharing ideas with other board members that are interested. Thanks

WhoIsWarren
dcolon / oddballstocks Count me in too! I did some work on a number thrift names about 18 months ago or so. I found the changed regulatory environment, dividend waivers etc. all a bit disconcerting; it felt wrong to be extrapolating the past onto a (potentially) new landscape. Also, I felt that, were I to invest here, I should probably own small positions 10 or 15 names to get exposure to a 'theme', rather than individual names, and there's a lot of work involved in tracking such a number. However if there are others with interest and experience, it would certainly be of interest.......

skanjete
I think the situation with the current second step conversion of Waterstone Financial is comparable with Charter Financial mentioned in the Barron's article. Has anyone studied Waterstone already?
