Hawks
Has anyone taken a position or done some analysis on ENI (E.NY), the Italian oil and gas company. Is a laggard in the energy sector, but pays a 5% dividend. Would be interested in any comments.
kirkomi
Why not GDF Suez ? It pays 9% dividend. I have not looked at Eni but I have been a shareholder of GDF Suez and E.On. The problem, as I see, is that these companies are not run for the shareholders benefit. They are serial acquirers and the management have tried to build an energy empire rather than looking at cash flows. The only good thing about them is the dividend, which they increase, maintain or worse cut depending on their financial performance. I follow gurufocus and although not deep, the following articles are a good starting point.
