  3. That support for Canadian markets is weak. Unless they file in the U.S. it just shows the name with a chart for the share price. http://www.rocketfinancial.com/Charts.aspx?fID=356947&r=3650&t=1 More support for the Canadian market is coming, it's a new feature that isn't entirely implemented yet afaik.

  5. The counter-pressure is that he owns something like 1/3 of the company, so he probably doesn't want to dilute himself into oblivion.

  7. I haven't done the calc based on the BHN disclosure. I'm just waiting for Q4 to come out, that'll be in there. Wouldn't be surprised if they did a substantial amount during Q4 with the lower stock price.
  8. Yeah, ideally they'd tie compensation to fundamental and per share measures, but still, in the grand scheme of things, this is better alignment than the typical bunch of free options that will be in the money just from retained earnings, little actual stock holdings for management, but a huge salary.

  10. nv, the real test of HCG would be if the Canadian real estate market goes pear shaped. Like insurance companies or banks, everything might seem fine in good times, but the quality of the underwriting can come and bite them in the ass years later during more trying periods.

  15. Yeah, that part was interesting, and it did sound like the recent announcements were in the vein of what he was suggesting (I'm sure they'll keep iterating on it). The whole first part about his life story was fascinating too. What a career.

  18. How many stores did they say they visited? You don't get pageviews by writing that everything's fine. Seemed like mostly NYC, which I've experienced in 2 of them. And I also know one in NJ had similar issues. I did go again to one in NYC two days ago and it seemed better than the week before. I've seen inventory issues at my local Walmart once in a while, but I don't go write a BI piece about it.
