FNMA and FMCC preferreds. In search of the elusive 10 bagger.
Grenville replied to twacowfca's topic in General Discussion
I think it's crazy to think Berkowitz could sell his holdings at current prices without moving the share price. He's got a massive position and others would figure out quickly if he tried to move his position in the public market. If he move his positions in a privately negotiated position deal off market (assuming it doesn't have to be publicly reported in the daily ticker) that would be different. -

It's also awesome that you have such great opportunities to speak with such great/thoughtful guys as merkhet. :) -

I'm surprised FFH has built a ~200mln position in IBM... -

Interesting color, thanks for sharing. -
good interview. I'm glad he's ready to stay there for a long time.

I hope the CDC puts on their game face and starts taking this whole thing more seriously…a bit disappointing.

Here's the official video of the autopilot and dual motor. Very good stuff. Interestingly, Musk mentions the charger plug-in issue when the car self parks in your garage. This guy and company is awesome. Eric, if you can figure out a way to get a P85D without too much of an outlay, that would be cool. The auto-pilot stuff seems really nice. I guess at this rate, Tesla will always be making the cars better...

If that becomes a popular use case with users, a good solution will be developed. Tesla listens to their customers and iterates quickly.

Very interesting company! Thanks for posting. -
Eric's got the right right idea...why would they tease a structural business move? Has to be a feature/consumer angle. The graphic says "unveil the D" with a garage door going up and a vehicle behind it. It is pretty obvious that there is going to be a Model D. Probably a Model P as well, based on the fact that he said "Glad I didn't mention the other letter!" and the "something else". Not sure why it can't be a variation on model s like a model sd, like eric described.

Great discussion. Thumbs up to all of you who are reading the opinion and the filings. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. I just finished reading the Perry opinion, still need to process it all. I thought the Perry arguments were better when I first read the various complaints. It does seem like the judge involved is just as important as the legal arguments/lawyers in terms of the outcome of a specific case. -
Gets my thumbs up. I can't say I agree with everything Brian has done, but his background and work since taking over has gotten BAC pretty far.

my two cents, if they wipe out existing shareholders then why would anyone reinvest in the entities. The same thing could happen again since F&F don't exist without the govt backstop. -
valuecfa, Enjoyed this interview! Thanks for posting.

Not sure if this has been posted in the past, but I just finished listening to the Fiat Investor day recorded CC. Sergio's remarks at the very end of the recording left me with one word: Wow! Sergio is one of those leaders that don't come along very often.

Thanks for the update. I expected something to come about of this project especially with all the energy activity in the US. Hopefully they can still monetize their regulatory work down the road.
-
Kraven, Appreciate your comments, especially from someone who knows what to look for in a document like that. It's an interesting transaction and will be more interesting if Berkowitz gets to take part.

Great thank you for that number especially on a fully diluted and combined basis! The initial reports didn't disclose an equity portion when the preferred financing was announced with Berkshire. Good to see Berkshire continuing to do deals with 3G.

What sort of equity stake does it give Berkshire in the combined entity?

Thanks for posting the video and transcript! I just watched Stumpf's prepared remarks. They are really good, and I highly recommend them. His comments on the state of the economy are great given his exposure to lots of data! -
